Bruin bats never get going

After sitting around the team hotel for over two days, the Blacksburg Minors finally were able to play some baseball.

Blacksburg got off to a quick start, getting the first batters on with no outs, but then a rocket line drive down the first base line was barely caught by the Texas first baseman who basically put his glove up to protect himself and caught the ball.  He had the presence to step on the bag for the very quick double play, virtually ending Blacksburg's threat.  Luke Goforth was stranded at 3rd in the inning.

In the bottom of the 1st, Texas picked up two runs to make the score 2-0.

Blacksburg really never got the bats going, fouling off a lot of pitches, but did get runners on every inning, but couldn't put together any type of rally.  Blacksburg's only run was scored by Davis Roberson.

Texas broke the game open with a 3 run HR in the bottom of the 4th.

Blacksburg will play Alabama on Monday @ 3:30pm.  You can watch live on
