Blacksburg got off to a quick start, picking up six runs in the top of the first. The Bruins first six batters all reached base on consecutive hits: Luke Goforth, Ben Freel, Cole Epperley, Davis Roberson, Wesley McCoy, and Jacob Lucas. Roberson's double drove in two runs.

In the bottom of 4th, Montgomery Co put together a little rally and scored four runs, to make the score 15-6.
In the top of the 5th, Blacksburg broke the game open with 10 runs. The Bruins batted around with Luke Goforth and Craig Weaver both having two singles, while Cole Epperley had a double and a single. Ben Freel had 2 RBIs, Cordell Croy had a bases loaded triple, with 3 RBIs. Ben Freel added a triple while Grant Johnson had a single.
In the bottom of the 5th, Montgomery Co picked up four runs on 3 hits to make the final score 25-10.
