Avery Pierce throws No Hitter For Titans

Blacksburg traveled to Hidden Valley for the first time this season to face off against one of the River Ridge's perennial top teams.  The Titans have established themselves as the most consistent baseball River Ridge program over the last 10 years, winning 7 District Titles.  Additionally, they have had 5 POY honors.

Avery Pierce threw a no hitter vs the Bruins, facing the minimum 15 batters and did so with just 43 pitches; striking out three, and did not have a walk.  He hit Alex Shimozono (HBP), thereby preventing the perfect game.

While Blacksbug struggled at the plate, of Hidden Valleys 10 runs, only 5 were earned.  The Bruins committed 7 errors and had 3 wild pitches.

With the loss, Blacksburg drops to 10-7 on the season, and 3-4 in River Ridge play.  The Bruins travel to Salem on Tuesday for their earlier rematch vs. the Spartans.
