Blacksburg Baseball Association

Each spring, the Blacksburg Baseball Association's Dixie Baseball franchise provides the opportunity for Blacksburg players to play against other franchised local Dixie teams.  The Blacksburg Dixie teams play in a leage comprised of same aged players from Christiansburg, Radford, Pulaski East, Pulaski West, Shawsville, and Auburn.  

Coach Pitched teams, however, will primarily play other Blacksburg teams, and teams from Montgomery County and Christiansburg. 

All players must register, and pay the registration fee. To register, print out the registration form (see links at left), fill it out, and mail it, along with a check for the registration fee, to BBA, 2900 Tall Oaks Dr, Blacksburg VA 24060. Make the check payable to "Blacksburg Baseball Association." Please, no cash. Registration is by mail only by Friday March 23, 2013.  There will be no "in person" registration session. There is a $25 late fee, and will be strongly enforced.  Late registrants are accepted but cause the league in incur extra expenses due to changes in uniform orders & etc.  No refunds.

The Blacksburg Baseball Association is a self-funded organization and not supported by any tax payer money. $45 of each registration fee goes towards a high end uniform, which players get to keep. The jersey is a two button full jersey with the player's last name on the back (and number) and a sewn on Dixie patch. Players also receive a fitted hat with embroidery on front and back. Players get to keep their hat as well. The remaining portion of the players fee ($65 in kid pitch and $30 in CP) helps cover Dixie National & State fees, insurance policies, team equipment, certified umpires, field rentals to the town of Blacksburg, and many other costs.  Corporate sponsors are accepted as a means to bridge the gap between the players fee's and actual league costs.

The deadline for Dixie Spring Registration (CP, 9-10, & 11-12) is Friday, March 23, 2013.  A late fee of $25 will be strongly enforced as late registrants cause many adminisrative issues and cost changes (uniform orders & etc.) to the league.

Practices will begin approximately April 1st, weather permitting.  

Once you have registered and the registration deadline has passed, you will be contacted by your respective coach.  Parents may offer to "help" coach their child's team, but it is up the sole discretion of the BBA and the head coach of your child's team.

Player's age on April 30, 2013 determines your child's Dixie participation age.

 Players of all ability are accepted. There are no "tryouts."

With parent permission, T-Ball aged players may "play up" to Coach Pitch, and Coach Pitch players may "play up" to 9-10 kid pitch.  But, 9-10 year olds MAY NOT play up to O-Zone (11-12).
