Blacksburg Beats Radford 12-2 in Opening Round of District Tournament

Bruins Roll in 1st Round
The Blacksburg 9-10 All-Star team opened the 2010 District 3 Dixie Tournament by beating Radford 12-2.
Radford led after 2 innings with very good pitching from Reece Williamson. Blacksburg tied the game 2-2 in the 3rd inning. The Bruins then broke the game open in the 4th inning, scoring 10 runs over the next two innings, ending the game via slaughter rule.
Blacksburg pitchers Jared Madigan and Cordell Croy led the Bruins pitching efforts, holding Radford to just 2 runs. Madigan was 3/4 at the plate, while Craig Weaver was 2/3. Weaver, Dom Hughes, and Hunter Radford scored multiple runs for the Bruins. Hughes led Blacksburg with 3 RBIs while Eric Wiles had 2 RBIs.
Blacksburg advances to the second round and will now play Patrick County @ 10am @ Randolph Park in Pulaski.
