Spring 2009 Dixie Baseball Program Info

Each spring the Blacksburg Baseball Association's Dixie Baseball franchises provide the opportunity for players to play against other Dixie teams in the area. The age divisions, with registration fees, and registration deadlines, are given below. Age on April 30, 2009 determines child's participation age and division.

All players must register, and pay the registration fee. To register, print out the registration form (see links at left), fill it out, and mail it, along with a check for the registration fee, to BBA, 2900 Tall Oaks Dr, Blacksburg VA 24060. Make the check payable to "Blacksburg Baseball Association." Please, no cash. Registration is by mail only; there will be no "in person" registration session. There is a $25 late fee. No refunds.

The Blacksburg Baseball Association is a self-funded organization and not supported by any tax payer money. $40 of each registration fee goes towards a high end uniform. The jersey is a two button jersey with the player's last name on the back (and number) and a sewn on Dixie patch. Players also receive a fitted hat with embroidery on front and back. Players get to keep their uniform. The remaining portion of the players fee ($60 in kid pitch and $35 in CP) helps cover Dixie National & State fees, insurance policies, team equipment, certified umpires, and field rentals to the town of Blacksburg. Corporate sponsors are accepted as a means to bridge the gap between the players fee's and actual league costs.

Players of all ability accepted. There are no "tryouts."

6-8 Year-Old Coach Pitch Division

Players 6-8 years old will be in the Coach Pitch division. The registration form and check must be received by Saturday, March 21, 2009. Registration fee is $75.

9-10 kid pitch division: Dixie Youth Baseball AAA Minors Division

Players 9-10 years old will be in the Dixie Youth Baseball AAA Minors division. The registration form and check must be received by Saturday, March 21, 2009. Registration fee is $100.

11-12 kid pitch division: Dixie Youth Baseball O-Zone Division
(Players may take a lead off bases)

Players 11-12 years old will be in the Dixie Youth Baseball O-Zone division. The registration form and check must be received by Saturday, March 21, 2009. Registration fee is $100.

13-14 Dixie Boys Division

Players 13-14 years old will be in the Dixie Boys Baseball division. The registration form and check must be received by Friday, May 1, 2009. Registration fee is $110. Please send a confirmation email to info@blacksburgbaseball.com when you mail in your registration form --- that way we will know in advance of the coming arrival of your registration form.

15-18 Dixie Majors Division/Junior Legion

Players 15-18 years old will be in the Dixie Majors Baseball division. The registration form and check must be received by Friday, May 15, 2009. Registration fee is to be determined. More information will be posted here when available.
