Blacksburg VA, July 28, 2007 ---
The Blacksburg Minors Dixie Youth All-Star Team celebrated its
State Championship at PKs on Saturday night. Many in the community
came out to support the players and their families. The crowd sang
"Happy Birthday" to Brain Davis who had the pleasure of watching his
son win a championship on his special day.
Then, the evening was capped off with its main event.....Virginia Tech
Head Baseball Coach Pete Hughes promised the players that if they won a
state championship, they could shave his head. He told the crowd that
this was a "great example in life, that if you tell somebody you're gonna do something,
you better follow through and do it!" Each player
took a turn in shaving the locks off Coach Hughes.
